It was a great time, but if you're looking to be completely immersed, it's maybe not the best choice. International Students stay in what is basically a hotel with room service, with one roommate from your own country, separated from the rest of the Chinese students who stay in typical Chinese dorms with 5-7 roommates. It was also a somewhat disorganized program, but I believe they're getting better. The quality of instruction was extremely varied. Sometimes you would get an amazing instructor, and other times you would get one who just really had no business teaching (from an American perspective, anyway.) All that said, I LOVED Xi'an. The history, the night life, the friends, the food, and I can't wait to get back to China! I studied abroad at Xi’an International University last semester.
