Thanks to everyone for your kind comments. The Ryukyu Flying Fox is indeed called a Fruit Bat. It’s also listed as an endangered species, though I see them everyday. For years I thought they were helping me keep the mosquito population under control, but they don’t; they eat fruits and plants !

I Lived in Okinawa for a couple of years when I saw a picture of the bat I had to laugh, we would take walks at night this five pound bat would hang from a tree right outside my front door. How about the Banana spiders they are a sight to see. Love the pictures brought back many memories.
